2027 Ignite by 4-H Scholarship Application

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, June 26, 2026

Thanks to the generous support of Ballmer Group, Bayer, Carnegie Corporation of New York, CHS Foundation, Charles Schwab Foundation, Lilly Endowment Inc., and Mars Impact Fund, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships that cover the full registration fee. The following are eligible to apply:
- Cooperative Extension 4-H programs within land-grant universities (LGUs)
- Cooperative Extension 4-H programs and clubs within your local county
- Parent/guardian and 4-H teen(s)

This scholarship application is for delegations interested in receiving general Ignite tickets (tracks include Adult, Agriscience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living & STEM) and/or CWF at Ignite tickets. Soccer Cup scholarship tickets are awarded through a separate application.

Soccer Scholarship Application

Registration includes:

High-impact programming and speakers featuring national experts and leaders along with opportunities for career exploration, using your voice and building connections with teens from across the country.
Room and board (double occupancy for teens, single occupancy for adults) checking in on Wednesday, March 17 and checking out on Sunday, March 21.
All meals and breaks.
DC-area site visits and program materials.

IMPORTANT:

Before applying, please ensure that you are prepared to be responsible for all travel expenses, including transportation to and from Ignite. Be sure to consult your state program leader regarding any restrictions or requirements that may apply in terms of travel fees and chaperones.
If awarded, you will receive a confirmation email and additional instructions will be sent for registration.
All teens must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
All teens who receive a scholarship will be required to submit a Lead to Change (L2C) project application.

Scholarship Application Questions

Please have the team (both youth and adult) applying answer the below questions to be considered for the scholarship. Changes to team members are allowed, but we ask that you try to work with the youth planning to attend.

Describe why you are applying for an Ignite by 4-H scholarship. How will this event contribute to your team’s professional skill development and career exploration? Please share the topic(s) your team is most interested in and why.

Youth should be selected based on demonstrated need and the potential impact of this opportunity. Preference will be given to applicants who may face barriers to participation due to limited access to resources or support. Please describe the needs of the youth on your team and how you believe this scholarship will support their participation and growth through the Ignite experience.

In 3-5 sentences, provide a summary of the Lead to Change project your teen attendees might be interested in exploring if you are selected to attend Ignite by 4-H 2027.

Please note that the full number of tickets requested is not guaranteed. Scholarships may be awarded in part, and in some cases, tickets may be awarded in phases depending on available funding. Initial awards could be for a portion of the request, with the possibility of additional tickets being funded if more resources become available. All teams must include at least one (1) adult and one (1) youth.
